Judith Beschow

Judith Beschow, born in 1990, got her first guitar lessons at the age of four at the music school “Früh übt sich” in Berlin. From 2003 to 2009 she received a scholarship of the “Mittelbrandenburgische Sparkasse Potsdam” as preparation for her studies at a music college. In 2009 she began her studies at the Hochschule für Musik “Franz Liszt” in Weimar where she studied with Professor Christiane Spannhof. Judith Beschow finished her Bachelor in October 2013 and studied in the Masters degree “Master of music” until summer 2017 with Professor Thomas Müller-Pering. 

Judith Beschow participated at more than 20 competitions. At the age of 9 she won the second price at the fourth international competition for guitar “Anna Amalia” in Weimar in the category I – age group up to 13 years. In 2001 she won the “International Guitar Festival” Bernau (Germany). Several times she took part at the famous German competition “Jugend musiziert” and won prices in regional and over regional areas. 

In October 2013 she won the first price at the international guitar competition in Rudolstadt (Germany) and in 2014 she achieved the first price and a scholarship at the “Stockholm International Music Competition” in Sweden. 

The same year Judith Beschow studied with Göran Söllscher and Gunnar Spjuth at the “Musikhöskolan i Malmö”in Sweden while taking part at the Erasmus exchange program. 

Judith Beschow is also committed to chamber music. While studying in Malmö, she played with a string quartet at the “chamber music festival 2015″. Furthermore she worked with singers and other instrumentalists such as accordion and violin, as well as in different combinations with other guitarists. Since 2009 she also plays together with the guitarist Juliane Byrenheid. Their duo is called “Duo Jucorda” and in 2014 they won the first price at a guitar competition for ensembles in Gevelsberg (Germany). 

Currently Judith Beschow works as a guitar teacher at “Kreismusikschule Bautzen”. Since 2011 she is also lecturer for guitar at the “Landesjugendzupforchester Berlin/Brandenburg” (youth mandolin orchestra).
